Faulty landing gear leads to fireball landing

Faulty landing gear has been blamed for the crash-landing by a passenger aircraft as it landed on a runway. The pilots were aware of the problem when a section of the under carriage of the plane refused to drop down into position and the plane was then forced into a crash-landing that created a huge fireball and smoke.
